I’m Ellen Shapiro, writer and graphic designer.

I’m passionate about stories that shine a light on the talents and richness that immigrants bring to our lives, stories in which the characters contribute to a more just society. And I’m equally passionate about the critical role graphic design plays in learning about and understanding the world around us through books, newspapers, magazines, signage, websites — every kind of visual communication. Especially those with compelling illustration and photography.
