When I started teaching Sunday School, I found the books that I was given to be poorly produced and difficult to use for both me and the kids. Following Alphagram’s multisensory methodology for teaching phonics, reading, and spelling in English, I made worksheets for my students with color emoji that represented the letter-sounds and created games and activities with them. Soon, a book materialized, now in its third edition. The lessons progress from consonants to syllables with vowels, to words and sentences. Every lesson introduces one aleph-bet letter, pairs the letter with a Jewish value, ritual, prayer, or holiday, and ends with a suggested discussion or activity.
