American Technion Society

High Impact from Big Numbers and Bold Images

The ATS has raised more than $2.7 billion for the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, one of the world’s leading science and technology universities. Visual Language has been a key partner in supporting the organization’s efforts.

As the Technion is to breakthroughs in research and development of life-saving technologies, the ATS is to advancements in fundraising — at the global, national, statewide, and personal levels. The ATS develops multi-million-dollar campaigns that mesh donors’ deep interests with the university’s and Israel’s needs. We created this matrix of words and images to encompass the Technion’s accomplishments and be used in a multiplicity of ways.
The matrix, with its strong color palette, can be reconfigured for magazine covers, folders, letterhead, invitations, and other campaign materials.
Technion USA magazine was far from innovative when I first got involved. But with the crisp, redesigned logo and typography demonstrated in this mockup, it had the look and feel of a publication that would inform and attract donors of buildings, laboratories, and the research of Nobel-Prize-winning professors.
Two of my favorite T-USA spreads focusing on Technion innovations. Nigel Holmes drew the time line that connected the Technion to Silicon Valley to NYC.
Before founding Visual Language I had years of experience designing case statements for colleges and universities. It was an honor to redesign the case for supporting the Technion.
A series of small-space black-and-white ads showcasing Technion graduates who lead Israeli high-tech companies. The ads ran in US cities where the ATS has offices and cultivates major gifts donors.
High impact from big numbers and dramatic images.
